PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane which has a high elastic modulus, the polyurethane being produced by using a liquefied polycarbonate polyol of low viscosity as a raw material.SOLUTION: This invention relates to: a polyurethane obtained by reacting (a) a polycarbonate polyol with (b) a polyisocyanate compound, wherein the polycarbonate polyol is configured such that at least one or two sidechain(s) comprising a 1-10C organic group is/are bonded to at least one of two carbon atoms adjacent to a carbonate bond; a coating material composition containing the polyurethane; and a polyurethane resin film obtained by heating and drying the coating material composition.
