PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high-accuracy retrieval of a similar image area.SOLUTION: A similar image area retrieval device comprises: similarity calculation means that, with one of two images set as a standard image and the other image set as a reference image, calculates an image similarity between a standard block area used as a standard in the standard image and multiple first retrieval ranges within the reference image having an area as large as the standard block area; and similarity correction means that determines a first retrieval range with the highest similarity among the image similarities obtained by the similarity calculation means to be a second retrieval range, and corrects the image similarity obtained by the similarity calculation means, on the basis of a density difference between left and right images to a boundary of the second retrieval range within the reference image and the density difference between the left and right images to the boundary of the standard block area within the standard image. |
