PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an all-solid air cell with improved utilization efficiency of a negative electrode material, by using an iron system material as a negative electrode.SOLUTION: The present invention is a material for an air cell, which is characterized in that an oxide of an element belonging to Groups 4, 13 or 14 in the periodic table and a basic hydroxide are included and an iron oxide is carried on the oxide. It is preferable that the oxide is a Zr oxide and that the basic hydroxide is an alkali metal hydroxide. In addition, the iron oxide is FeOfor example. It is preferable that the material for the air cell is manufactured by impregnating the oxide with a solution of an iron acetylacetonate in the presence of the basic hydroxide, followed by heat treatment. |
