PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PVA film from which a polarizing film having high polarizing performance can be easily produced and which can be stably stretched to a high magnification and improve a yield of a polarizing film.SOLUTION: A PVA film is provided, which satisfies (1) 1.10≤(swelling degree A)/(swelling degree C)≤1.25, (2) 1.10≤(swelling degree B)/(swelling degree D)≤1.25, and (3) |(swelling degree A)-(swelling degree B)|≤5 under the following conditions. When one end and the other end along any single straight line in a width direction of the film are denoted by X and Y, respectively, and the center in the width direction is denoted by Z, a swelling degree in a range A from X to a distance corresponding to 10% of the width toward Y is denoted by swelling degree A (%); a swelling degree in a range B from Y to a distance corresponding to 10% of the width toward X is denoted by swelling degree B (%); a swelling degree in a range C from Z to a distance corresponding to 30% of the width toward X is denoted by swelling degree C (%); and a swelling degree of a range D from Z to a distance corresponding to 30% of the width toward Y is denoted by swelling degree D (%). |
