PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for a fixing device capable of providing a wide nip width despite the small diameter thereof and reducing warm-up time, and has excellent durability.SOLUTION: A roller for a fixing device has an elastic layer made of a porous material having a plurality of air bubbles formed on an outer peripheral surface of a core bar. The size of the air bubbles present in a cross section obtained by cutting the porous material is in a range of 0.1 μm or more and 50 μm or less; and compound air bubbles formed by spherical air bubbles being partially overlapped with each other account for 60% or more and 70% or less of an area of a square area with the length of one side of 200 μm in the cross section.
