PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device for a portable information device that allows an input operation by a simple operation even in a state where the portable information device is held by both hands, or one hand holds the portable information device and the other hand is occupied and thereby cannot be used.SOLUTION: An input device for a portable information device 1 is provided with a camera 3 on a display device 2 side. Based on projection information of at least two points in a longitudinal direction or a lateral direction of an object photographed by the camera 3, the input device for the portable information device detects two-dimensional position information in the display device 2 and distance information between the portable information device 1 and the object. A visible light cut filter 4 is disposed so as to cover a lens of the camera 3 provided in the portable information device 1, and an infrared light light-emitting device 6 with at least two points separated at a fixed distance is disposed in a view field of the camera 3. From the projection information between the two points, a distance between the two-dimensional position information and the portable information device 1 is obtained. |
