PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact printer capable of suppressing the deterioration in printing quality when a stepped part of a print medium passes a printing position.SOLUTION: An impact printer 1 adjusts a gap between a print head 3 on a carriage 7 and a print medium 100 by rotation of the carriage 7 around an axial line L of a carriage guide shaft 8 following the thickness of the print medium 100. At this time, when the carriage 7 is rotated to be inclined, the print head 3 is inclined so that a reaching position P on the print medium 100 of a recording wire 3a is shifted from a target reaching position P in a feeding direction. Thus, a feeding amount correction part 48 corrects the reference feeding amount S0 by a feeding mechanism 37 based on the variation of the inclination of the carriage 7 so that the reaching position P in the print medium 100 of the recording wire 3a is close to the target reaching position P. Therefore, even though the carriage 7 is inclined when the stepped part 100a of the print medium 100 passes the printing position A, the deterioration in printing quality is suppressed. |
