The posts (3) have a screwing channel whose side walls comprises a groove extending toward a longitudinal axis for formation of a counter-thread. Connection devices are threaded into the channel transverse to the longitudinal axis for connecting the posts with components e.g. floor anchors (4) such as support anchors, of a protection device (1) that is formed as a guardrail (2). The channel opens with an aperture into an interior i.e. hollow section, of the post, where the aperture is formed in a casing wall of the post. The channel is formed as a single extruded profile. An independent claim is also included for a protection device.
