PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of certainly performing remote operation of a hardware key of an image formation device.SOLUTION: A remote operation system 1 includes an image formation device 10 and a remote operation device 50. The image formation device 10 includes an operation input unit and a transmission unit. The transmission unit transmits composite possible area information that shows a composite possible area in a first screen that is a candidate screen for a remote operation screen to the remote operation device 50 (step S14). On the other hand, the remote operation device 50 includes a receiving unit, a display unit, and a display control unit. The receiving unit receives the composite possible area information that has been transmitted from the image formation device 10. The display control unit generates a second screen by composing an additional image that is to be added to the first screen in the composite possible area of the first screen on the basis of the composite possible area information and displays the second screen on the display unit as the remote operation screen (step S27 to step S28).
