The transmission (1) has an upper switching device (SE1) which is arranged on the main axis (2) and the lower switching device (SE2) is arranged on minor axis (3). One of the three switching devices (SE1-SE3) comprises two switching elements and another of the three switching devices comprises a single switching element. One of the wheel planes (I,II,III,IV,V,VI) of transmission elements are arranged on the major axis, and the jackshafts (VW2) trained as sleeve shafts (H2,H3) are arranged on the minor axis. The wheel plane (III) is arranged directly adjacent to the wheel plane (II).
