<p>A shaving razor with a handle and a housing mounted to the handle. The housing has a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, and at least one blade having a cutting edge. The blade is mounted to the housing with a blade support structure. A guard is at the distal end portion of the housing and has a plurality of projections substantially perpendicular to the blade that define a plurality of slots. A washout cavity beneath the blade is defined by an inner surface of the guard and an inner surface of the blade support structure. The washout cavity has an open area of at least 80 percent for allowing unobstructed passage of water substantially along an entire length of the blade.</p> |
