PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily suppress rotation of a rotary tool shaft in a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A machine tool 1 includes: a first gear 67 having teeth 67a arranged around the rotating tool shaft 64 to the rotating tool shaft 64; a second gear 43 arranged at a rotating shaft 42 at a drive side; and an engagement member 52 having a protrusion 53 protruded toward the root curve faces 67c of the first gear at a position in a center axis direction D1 indexed to the first gear 67 of an indexed rotating tool shaft 65 and positioned at the opposite side of the second gear 43. The second gear 43 is released from engagement with the first gear 67 when a turret 60 is moved from a fixed position L1 to a turnable position L2. The engagement member 52 is turnable with the turret 60. The protrusion 53 is inserted in indexing center axis direction D1 to the tooth groove 67b of the first gear when the turret 60 is moved from the fixed position L1 to the turnable position L2.
