Method and device for separating sausage chains

The method involves transporting filled, portioned sausages (8) by a transport device (2) and another transport device (3) arranged behind the former device in a transport direction (T). A portioning point (12) between the sausages is enlarged based on transport speed of the latter device being intermittently larger than transport speed of the former device, where the sausages are consecutively arranged. The portioning point is cut in the latter transport device. The speed of the latter transport device is briefly increased and/or the speed of the former transport device is briefly reduced. An independent claim is also included for a device for performing a method for separating a sausage chain into single sausages.
