<p>An apparatus, system, method, and control program stored in a carrier medium, each of which allows an operation device (40) connected to a first network (102) to obtain electronic data stored in an image processing apparatus (30) that resides on a second network (104) via a firewall (106) are described. In a data relay system, a server apparatus (10) disposed on the first network (102) and a client apparatus (20) disposed on the second network (104) communicate with each other to relay a request for obtaining data that is received from the operation device (40) connected to the first network (102), to the image processing apparatus (30) that resides on the second network (104).
