PURPOSE: An exhaust gas treatment apparatus and a method thereof are provided to stabilize exhaust gas treatment by using an auxiliary exhaust gas treatment unit. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas treatment apparatus includes an exhaust gas treatment column(110) and an auxiliary exhaust gas treatment column(140). The exhaust gas treatment column removes pollutants from exhaust gas. The auxiliary exhaust gas treatment column receives the exhaust gas from the exhaust gas treatment column and secondarily removes pollutants from the exhaust gas. The auxiliary exhaust gas treatment column includes a housing, an auxiliary absorption material, and a flow meter. The housing provides a flowing path to the exhaust gas. The auxiliary absorption material is arranged on the flowing path. The flow meter adjusts the flux of exhaust gas in the housing. The auxiliary absorption material includes manganese oxide containing active carbon. |
