A decoding hierarchy method according to saving capacity and an apparatus thereof are provided to decode traffic information from a selection time point of a user, thereby providing traffic information efficiently without supplementing storage resources of a mobile communication terminal. If capacity of received traffic information is capacity storable in the first storage unit, the traffic information is stored in the first traffic information unit after decoding the traffic information(S120,S122). If the capacity of the received traffic information exceeds the storable capacity and the capacity of the traffic information is storable capacity in the second storage unit, the traffic information is stored in the second storage after decoding(S114,S116). When the capacity of the received traffic information exceeds the capacities storable in the first and second storage units, the traffic information is decoded from a selection time point of the user(S106,S108). |
