A water hose (1) is described, the water hose (1) comprising a first tube (2), made from an elastic material, wherein the first tube (2) is adapted to elongate longitudinal and laterally when pressurized and contract when not pressurized, a second tube (3), made from a substantially non-elastic but flexible material, wherein the first tube (2) is located inside the second tube (3) and the first tube (2) is attached to the second tube (3) at the distal ends of the second tube (3), the first tube (2) and the second tube (3) are attached to one another at at least one further position, wherein the attachment (4) restricts a lateral elongation of the first tube (2) at the attachment (4) to maintain pressure inside the first tube (2). Further, also a method for using the self-elongating water hose (1) is described.
