PURPOSE: An ISG(Idle Stop and Go) system is provided to minimize damage to an inverter when a fault occurs in the inverter, and to minimize the size of the inverter because separate regenerative resistance which is attached to the inverter is not required. CONSTITUTION: An ISG(Idle Stop and Go) system includes an inverter and a first DC-DC converter. An integrated type motor/generator turns off a switch of the first DC-DC converter when an amount output voltage VDC of a DC-LINK exceeds a predetermined safe area during the operation of the integrated type motor/generator in a motoring mode(S730). A UVW switch which is connected to the integrated type motor/generator is turned off when the amount output voltage VDC of the DC-LINK falls within the predetermined safe area(S750). The UVW switch is turned off when the VDC exceeds the predetermined safe area during the operation of the integrated type motor/generator in a generation mode(S731). A switch of the first DC-DC converter is turned off when the VDC falls within the predetermined safe area afterwards(S751).
