The method involves inputting an electric control signal to a piezo electric acoustic signal generator, which allows activation of the signal generator in a noiseless manner based on a time period and rate of the electric control signal. An electric response signal of the signal generator is measured based on the activation, and is compared with a determined reference signal, where the reference signal is close to a given functionality of the signal generator in accordance with the response signal. Electronics of a warning unit is provided in a storage.
