The method involves assigning graphical or pictorial representation of article to each record. An article with an information carrier is provided to a reading station. The information carrier is provided with data which is assigned to article. The data from information carrier is compared with data in records by a computing unit, and record with respect to article is determined. The data associated with graphical and pictorial representation of article is retrieved. The graphical and pictorial representation of article is displayed on a graphics picture screen. An independent claim is included for a point of sale (POS) system for recognizing and representing range of article.
