<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent saturation of electric charge accumulation sections of a solid imaging element by reception of a bright background light and a bad effect on distance accuracy of a distance image to be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: A method for controlling a light flying time type distance image sensor which constitutes picture elements by photoelectric conversion elements, a plurality of electric charge accumulation sections provided for each photoelectric conversion element and capable of accumulating an electric charge, distribution means for distributing and accumulating the electric charge in the plurality of electric charge accumulation sections in synchronization with a modulated light, a plurality of capacities conductive to each of the plurality of electric charge accumulation sections, and the solid imaging element having control means for controlling a conductive state between the plurality of the electric charge accumulation sections and the plurality of capacities. In a light accumulation time during which the electric charge is distributed to the plurality of electric charge accumulation sections by the distribution means, the electric charge by lights other than the modulated light is eliminated from the plurality of electric charge accumulation sections by switching the conductive state to be controlled by the control means by any time allocation, while having the electric charge by the modulated light accumulated in the plurality of electric charge accumulation sections. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
