PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide anhydrous sodium sulfate for grinding pigments, capable of easily and stably yielding fine pigments excellent in contrast etc. SOLUTION: The anhydrous sodium sulfate for grinding pigments has an average particle size of ≤5.5 μm and comprises ≤5 vol% particles sized ≥10.0 μm. The anhydrous sodium sulfate for grinding pigments is obtained e.g. by feeding salt cake as a raw material at a rate of 50 kg/hr into a grinding chamber of a jet mill into which dry air is fed under 0.65 MPa, continuously grinding the same and collectively trapping ground salt cake discharged from a grinder with a bag filter.
