PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing a Jeju traditional Citrus hassaku extract as an active ingredient is provided to suppress the expression of inflammatory genes without cytotoxicity, thereby being used as a pharmaceutical composition or a food for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases contains a Citrus hassaku extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by extracting Citrus hassaku pericarp powder through supercritical extraction using a CO_2 supercritical extractor at a pressure of 280-320 bar and a temperature of 45-55°C.
