FIELD: physics.SUBSTANCE: disclosed fixing device has a fixing and clamping element arranged such that it faces the fixing belt and an element which is in contact with the inner peripheral surface of a layer of polyimide resin of the fixing belt and is able to bring the fixing belt into pressure contact with the clamping element. The fixing belt has a cylindrical base made of metal and a layer of polyimide resin formed on the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical base, where the layer of polyimide resin has a degree of imidation of 70-93% and contains polyimide resin containing a specific constitutional unit.EFFECT: obtaining a fixing device for use in an electrophotographic imaging device which has a fixing belt having a layer of polyimide resin having both excellent flexibility and excellent wear resistance.2 cl, 9 tbl, 2 dwg |
