FIELD: machine building.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to machine-building industry and can be used for connection of reinforcing bars by twisting the wire wound around those bars. A reinforcing bar connecting machine includes the main sleeve in which a shaft is installed. A hook is hinged on the main sleeve end. A spiral helical groove is made on the shaft. A mounting hole into which a key is inserted and which is engaged with the spiral helical groove passes from outer side to inner side. On outer periphery of the main sleeve there located is a short sleeve covering the key. Engagement means controlling the main sleeve rotation are made on the short sleeve.EFFECT: reduction of dimensions and weight of the machine; possibility of maintaining high loads.12 cl, 11 dwg
