PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid solution lithium-containing transition metal oxide having high discharge capacity while reduced in an amount of hysteresis, and a lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: A solid solution lithium-containing transition metal oxide is represented by general formula: Li[NiCoMn[Li]]O(in the formula, Li, Ni, Co, Mn and O represent lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese and oxygen, respectively, and a, b, c and d satisfy the relationships of 0<a≤0.75, 0≤b≤0.5, 0<c≤1.0, 0.05≤d≤0.25 and a+b+c+d=1.5.). In the solid solution lithium-containing transition metal oxide, a ratio (A/B) of a dQ/dV value (A) at a peak A located between 3.0 V and 3.5 V in a dQ/dV curve with respect to a dQ/dV value (B) at a peak B located between 3.0 V and 4.0 V in the dQ/dV curve is equal to or less than 1.0. |
