PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress waiting time generated by executing additional operations.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus configured to execute an image forming operation and a plurality of additional operations comprises: a controller part 101 and an engine control part 201 for controlling the image forming operation and the additional operations. The controller part 101 and the engine control part 201 respectively operate activation processing before starting the image forming operation. The image forming apparatus includes selection means for selecting, from among the plurality of additional operations, an additional operation which can be completed before the activation processing of either the controller part 101 or the engine control part 201 having longer processing time is completed after the activation processing of the other having shorter processing time is completed. The part having shorter processing time is configured to execute the additional operation selected by the selection means in a period between the completion of the activation processing of its own and the completion of the activation processing of the part having longer processing time. |
