PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure determining device of an internal combustion engine, the device capable of quickly completing failure determination upon fuel cutoff.SOLUTION: An engine failure determining device has a throttle valve provided at an inlet system and which adjusts a flow rate of new air introduced into an engine, a first failure determining unit for bringing the inside of a suction manifold into a negative pressure state by driving the throttle valve to a closed side at a start time (t0) of fuel cutoff and determines a failure of a first device group (absolute pressure sensor and a PCV piping) in this state, and a second failure determining unit for bringing the inside of the suction manifold into a scavenging state in which gas not including a fuel flows through an exhaust system by driving the throttle valve driven to the closed side to an open side when the determination of the failure of the first device group is completed (t3), and determines a failure of a second device group (LAF sensor and an Osensor) different from the first device group in this state. |
