PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength conversion element capable of obtaining high emission efficiency, a light source device and a projector.SOLUTION: A wavelength conversion element comprises a phosphor layer 32 including a phosphor 32a and a binder 36. A thickness of a phosphor region 35 which is obtained by multiplying a thickness of the phosphor layer 32 by a volume concentration of the phosphor 32a, is more than 15 μm.
