PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive coloring composition for a color filter with high luminance, high sensitivity and satisfactory preservation stability.SOLUTION: A photosensitive coloring composition for a color filter contains (A) a hexaarylbisimidazole represented by the specified general formula (I), (B) a polyfunctional secondary thiol compound, (C) a polymerizable compound, and (D) a dye which is soluble in an organic solvent by 1 mass% or more at 25°C and has an absorption peak wavelength of 420-480 nm. The content of the (D) dye is 5 mass% or more relative to the total solid of the photosensitive coloring composition.
