PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust device for an internal combustion engine in which, even when an exhaust pipe is in a low-temperature state, high detection accuracy can be ensured compatibly with protection of a detection part.SOLUTION: An exhaust device 24 includes: a catalyst holding part 28 in which a catalyst 27 is held; an upstream-side exhaust pipe 32 connected to an internal combustion engine 4 and the catalyst holding part 28; a first exhaust sensor 34 which is disposed at an upstream side rather than the catalyst 27 and used for control just for a predetermined period after the internal combustion engine 4 is started; and a second exhaust sensor 35 which is disposed at an upstream side rather than the catalyst 27 and used for control in place of the first exhaust sensor 34 after the lapse of a predetermined time. The first exhaust sensor 34 includes a first detection part 36 accommodated in a water avoiding space 47 surrounded with a virtual plane extending from a downstream end of the upstream-side exhaust pipe 32 in a direction of the catalyst, an upstream-side end face of the catalyst 27 opposed to the downstream end of the upstream-side exhaust pipe 32 and an inner peripheral surface of the catalyst holding part 28 opposed to the virtual plane and the upstream-side end face. The second exhaust sensor 35 includes a second detection part 40 exposed to the outside of the water avoiding space 47. |
