PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document preparation device capable of easily and quickly setting a format for a plurality of format items, and a control method of the document preparation device.SOLUTION: A tape printer 1 of the present invention includes: a text editing part 81a for editing text; a ROM 83 for storing an aggregate of respective format parameters related to one or more format items specified in the text under editing as a format file; a format file calling part 81b for calling the format file from the ROM 83 during editing of the text to be a print object; a print data generation part 81c for reflecting the called format file on the text to be the print object; and a print head 7 for printing the generated print data on a tape. |
