PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woodtone material in which a woodtone pattern can be easily and inexpensively provided on surfaces of various raw materials, and which can provide more natural woodiness by simulating vessels of wood on its surface, and can maintain excellent appearance quality for a long period of time, and to provided a coating method of the woodtone material.SOLUTION: A surface of a metal plate 10 having been subjected to a surface treatment for coating is coated with paint matching a desired color tone to form a base coating film 111, a fabric-like body A impregnated with paint matching the desired color tone is rubbed against a surface of the base coating film 111, so that a moire finishing layer 112 having woodtone ruggedness on the surface is formed, and after the paint matching the desired color tone is sprayed in grains on the first moire finishing layer 112, granular parts is drawn into lines thinner than the ruggedness by a scratching means B to form a second moire finishing layer 113 having streak grooves simulating vessels of wood before the paint is dried. |
