PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel plate for motor cores, in which the deterioration of core loss characteristics by punching is small.SOLUTION: In a steel plate for motor cores, a surface layer part of the steel plate has a component composition including 4-7 mass% Si and 3 mass% or less Al, with the balance consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities; an inner layer part of the steel plate has a component composition including 5 mass% or less Si and 3 mass% or less Al with the balance consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities; the average Si content in the surface layer part is higher than the average Si content in the inner layer part by 0.5 mass% or more; the double layer ratio, which is the ratio of the thickness of the surface layer part to the total thickness is 0.1 to 0.7; and the elongation of the surface layer part is 5% or more. |
