PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture an electrode for electric discharge machining, in which an electrode material can be formed densely, and a base metal and the electrode material are closely joined, and moreover, which has a high degree of freedom in shape and enables an additive such as an oxide and boride to be added.SOLUTION: An electrode for electric discharge machining includes an electrode part (1) for discharging electricity to a workpiece, and a base metal part (2) formed of a material such as copper for retaining the electrode part. The material forming the electrode part is tungsten or a Cu-W composite material, and at least a part of the electrode part (1) is cast in the base metal part (2). |
