PURPOSE: A gas foil journal bearing and a chiller system with the same are provided to improve the attenuation performance and the elasticity recovery performance of a bump foil, thereby improving the attenuation performance and the elasticity recovery performance of the gas foil journal bearing. CONSTITUTION: A gas foil journal bearing (180) includes a bearing case, a first bump foil, and a second bump foil, and a top foil. The first bump foil is installed inside the bearing case and has an elastic structure. The second bump foil is installed inside the first bump foil and has an elastic structure. The top foil is installed inside the second bump foil and supports a driving shaft when the motor stops.
