PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology with which power consumption of a television in viewing a program being recorded can be reduced.SOLUTION: When a channel selecting instruction from a remote controller 2 is acquired as a viewing request via a remote control signal processing section 17, a concern degree determination section 19 acquires a viewing requested channel and a viewing requested time. When it is determined that the viewing requested channel is under recording via a recording processing section 18, the concern degree determination section 19 determines whether the viewing requested time is after the lapse of a predetermined time from a program starting time. When it is determined that the viewing requested time is after the lapse of the predetermined time from the program starting time, the concern degree determination section 19 shifts a television 1 to a power saving mode via a power saving mode control section 20. The power saving mode control section 20 controls to reduce a back light level of a display section 152 through a back light control section 21 and to increase a gamma value of the display section 152 through a display control section 142. |
