PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing a residual material remaining in the pipe of a heat exchanger which can remove the residual material in the pipe in a relatively short time and also confirm the passage of a pig.SOLUTION: In a method for removing a residual material adhering to the inside of a pipe of a heat exchanger 10, a spherical pig 12 larger than the diameter of the pipe and moreover having elasticity capable of pushing itself into the pipe is inserted into the pipe comprising a heat transfer pipe 11 and a U shape sections 18 and 19 connected thereto from one end 13 of the pipe to push out the spherical pig 12 from another end 14 of the pipe by a liquid pressure. In this case, a permanent magnet 31 is inserted into the pig 12 thereby detecting discharge thereof from the pipe. |
