PURPOSE: An AC motor controlling device is provided to prevent a controlling part from stopping the control of the AC motor causing the AC motor to drive in an abnormal state by determining a current value to be normal after a predetermined period of time when the current value, which is detected by a current detecting part, exceeds a threshold value in an AC motor control process. CONSTITUTION: A controlling part (8) of an AC motor control device (10) operates a motor driving circuit (7) for controlling an AC motor (21). An abnormality determining part (8a) whether the AC motor is abnormal while controlling. When the controlling part attempts to electrostatically control the AC motor, the motor driving circuit reversely controls the AC motor for a predetermined period of time and the electrostatic control of AC motor is performed when the abnormality determining part determines the AC motor to be normal. When the controlling part attempts to reversely control the AC motor, the motor driving circuit electrostatically controls the AC motor and the reverse control of AC motor is performed when the abnormality determining part determines the AC motor to be normal.
