PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection system in which ignitability of a fuel spray by pilot injection at low temperature can be improved without deteriorating fuel economy.SOLUTION: A fuel injection valve 20 and an ECU 30 can inject a conical fuel spray from an injection hole 201 into a combustion chamber 14 by main injection and can inject a conical fuel spray from the injection hole 201 into the combustion chamber 14 by pilot injection which is performed prior to the main injection. A stagnation generating means 40 includes a base part 41 and an extension part 42. The base part 41 and the extension part 42 protrude from a wall surface 121 forming the combustion chamber 14, such that a distal end portion is positioned within a predetermined angle range with respect to an axial line L of the injection hole 201 of the fuel injection valve 20. |
