PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long workpiece machining system capable of reducing such waste that gripped margins of workpieces are discarded and of reducing portions to be cut during machining even when components to be machined have different sizes.SOLUTION: A long workpiece machining system includes a workpiece stocker 1 for holding a plurality of workpieces W, a carrying device 2 using arms 30 with which the workpiece is gripped, for carrying the workpiece outward and homeward between the workpiece stocker and an introduction passage for a workpiece feeder 3, and a control means for allowing cutting work while using the workpiece feeder for forward feeding the workpiece in the case of plural-unit cutting work for the same workpiece, for allowing the workpiece to be carried homeward to the workpiece stocker by the carrying device in the case of one-unit cutting work followed by next-unit cutting work for the workpiece different therefrom, and for adjusting the positions of the arms 30 with which the workpiece is gripped when carried outward and homeward, on the basis of the initial length of the workpiece and the length of the workpiece after machined. |
