PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an inverter for reducing energy required for an inverter system by controlling a sleep operation in consideration of load characteristics.SOLUTION: A method for controlling an inverter in a system including a load 4, a motor 3 for driving the load 4, and an inverter 2 for operating the motor 3 comprises: when the load amount of the load 4 is reduced to a sleep level or below, checking whether time corresponding to a sleep delay has lapsed; when the load amount of the load 4 is still the sleep level or below even after the sleep delay, varying an operating frequency of the motor 3; and when there is no change in feedback of the load amount in response to the variation in the operating frequency of the motor 3, causing the inverter 2 to enter a sleep mode. |
