PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfur-based cathode active material capable of improving cycle characteristics and discharge rate characteristics of a nonaqueous secondary battery, and to provide a nonaqueous secondary battery using the sulfur-based cathode active material for a cathode.SOLUTION: The sulfur-based cathode active material comprises: a carbon skeleton derived from a carbon source compound selected from polyacrylonitrile, pitches, polyisoprene, plant raw materials, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon obtained by condensing three or more six-membered rings; and sulfur (S) and iodine (I) which are bonded to the carbon skeleton. |
