PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high-quality recording by suppressing generation accuracy reduction of a heat trigger signal caused by a fact that scan speed of a carriage mounting a recording head is rapidly decreased.SOLUTION: A trigger signal for driving the plurality of recording elements of a recording head at a next encoder cycle is generated on the basis of the interval of an encoder signal output by an encoder detecting a position of a carriage and recording resolution in a carriage movement direction. After the trigger signal is generated, waiting for the output of the next encoder signal is performed by the encoder. When the encoder signal is not detected even when a waiting time exceeds a preset time, the trigger signal is additionally generated. A recording signal is transferred to the recording head, to perform recording, in synchronization with the trigger signal generated in such a manner. |
