PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a hollow fiber membrane module capable of rapidly inserting a hollow fiber membrane columnar body from an opening of a cylindrical casing without collapsing the shape of the hollow fiber membrane columnar body or damaging a hollow fiber membrane without excessively tightly winding a long hollow fiber membrane knitted fabric.SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a hollow fiber membrane module used in a water purifier includes: a step of forming a hollow fiber membrane columnar body 8 by rolling a long hollow fiber membrane knitted fabric having a predetermined length; a step of inserting the other end part of a cylindrical body of a guide member 32, which has a cylindrical body 34 having an outer diameter almost equal to the inner diameter of a casing and a flange part 36 provided to one end of the cylindrical body, in the opening end of a bottomed cylindrical casing 22 opened at one end thereof; and a step of inserting the hollow fiber membrane columnar body in the casing along the guide member.
