PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial gap type rotary electric machine that securely ensure a winding space and can have its physical constitution made smaller than before, and a wheel.SOLUTION: In an axial gap type rotary electric machine 1 that has two rotors 30A and 30B opposed to one stator 2 across a gap G in an axial direction XA, the rotors 30A and 30B includes a plurality of rotor segment cores 31 which are arranged along a disk-like or circular shape, and magnetically separated, and the gap G is formed on opposed surfaces of the plurality of rotor segment cores 31 at a predetermined angle &thetas; to a plane crossing the axial direction XA. In this constitution, a stator coil 24 needs to be wound in a direction different from the axial direction XA (for example, in a radial direction YS etc.) and a winding space can be securely ensured. The opposite surfaces of the rotor segment cores 31 and the stator 2 can be made shorter in the axial direction XA when the opposite surfaces are equal in the area to each other. |
