PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for producing furan capable of obtaining furan efficiently with high purity from a mixed gas including furan obtained by decarbonylation reaction of furfural by a conventional vapor phase flow reaction.SOLUTION: This method for producing furan is characterized in that furfural as a raw material is supplied into a reactor, furan is produced by performing decarbonylation reaction in the presence of a catalyst, a mixed gas including furan as a main component is extracted from an outlet of the reactor, and when the mixed gas is brought into contact with a solvent to separate furan from the mixed gas, furfural is used as the solvent. |
