PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply unit capable of performing voltage supply restriction so that a supply voltage is not excessive even when electric power supplied to a load periodically changes.SOLUTION: The switching power supply unit includes a power supply section having a switching element, a detection section that detects whether or not the number of overcurrent pulses having peak current values in excess of a threshold current value, of a plurality of current pulses generated by switching of the switching element, reaches the number of threshold number of pulses in a unit period, as well as the time of continuous appearances in a unit period at which the number of overcurrent pulses reaches the threshold number of pulses. |
