PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driven by a non-sine wave that can reduce a vibration, noise, and torque ripple when it rotationally drives obtaining reluctance torque, and can smooth start-up, and also to provide a motor driven by a non-sine wave that can perform regenerative brake by the same operation unit as at the time of power supply right after stopping power supply, and store power generated at that time and improve energy efficiency.SOLUTION: A motor driven by a non-sine wave comprises: a rotor about which at least two rotational salient pole pairs are formed by an even number of rotational salient poles disposed symmetrically; a stator about which stationary salient pole pairs at least three times as many as the rotational salient pole pairs are formed by an even number of stationary salient poles disposed symmetrically around the rotor, and each of the stationary salient pole pairs is magnetized in the same polarity by a non-sine wave load current supplied to field windings wound onto the stationary salient pole pairs; detection means which is arranged at positions corresponding to the stationary salient pole pairs and detects timing when the rotational salient pole pairs pass the excitation area of the stationary salient pole pairs; and switching means for switching a power supply direction to the field windings at the detected timing. |
