PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve driving stability on a paved road surface of a studless tire in which a tread outer rubber layer is configured using foamed rubber while securing the ice/snow performance of the studless tire.SOLUTION: In a pneumatic tire, a tread outer rubber layer positioned at an outer-most side in a radial direction of the tire is comprised of foamed rubber. The pneumatic tire and a production method thereof are characterized in that an average foaming rate in a central part of the tread outer rubber layer from a tire equatorial plane to a position outward in a tire width direction at a distance that is 20% of a tread width is smaller in comparison with an average foaming rate at a side of the tread outer rubber layer positioned closer to the outside in the tire width direction than the central part of the tread outer rubber layer. |
